Show your support for Shofuso by making a donation to the Friends of the Japanese House and Garden.

Shofuso is one of the “park houses” of Fairmount Park owned by the City of Philadelphia, an authentic replica of a 17th century upper-class Japanese residence, hand-made in Japan by traditional craftsmen and sent to the United States.   Each year, the Friends of the Japanese House and Garden (FJHG) opens the gates of Shofuso to 12,000 visitors, including 3000 school children, who learn about Japanese culture, horticulture and architecture while immersed in the beauty of the site.

The FJHG, an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is charged with the sole responsibility for the maintenance, preservation and administration of this unique structure through its own resources.

Your contribution preserves the beautiful site that you love and keeps it available to enjoy. Your support and that of your friends and colleagues is crucial to the success and endurance of Philadelphia’s historic Japanese treasure.
